The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management is aimed at middle managers in a variety of community sector organisations including education and care, disability or aged care industry. Employees at this level plan and monitor service delivery, recruitment of other workers, performance management, risk management, and contribute to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific roles. Other tasks may include program or project management, or management of broader community-based organisations, such as early childhood education services.

Entry Requirements

Students must be currently working in a Management Role within the Community Services Sector and have completed year 12 or be of mature-age.

Students will be required to have a solid understanding of legislation, practices and standards applicable to the overall operation of a community service. Holding a Diploma level qualification in your current industry, or extensive experience in that industry would indicate you would have the required amount of knowledge and experience.

• Students must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to apply.

Practical Placement

Practical Placement evidence for this course is completed by undertaking tasks within your current work role in the Community Services Sector.

A requirement of enrolment into this course, is that you are currently working within a Management Role within the Community Services Sector.

Roles can include: Nominated Supervisor, Director, Coordinator or Manager.

While there are no minimum number of hours required, workplace tasks will be required to be completed, and evidence of this submitted for your assessment of competency.
