Course Outline

This is a refresher course for those who have previously completed Nationally Recognised training such as CHCPRT025, CHCPRT026, CHCPRT001  or CHCPRT002. 


This course is also suitable for those who are not required to undertake accredited training but are required to be aware of indicators of abuse or neglect and how to respond.


This is not a nationally recognised course.


This short course contains a mixture of short videos and quizzes, and will take around 2.5 hours to complete. Upon completion you will be able to download your certificate. Learners can start, leave and return the course as many time as they need and can save their answers as they go.

Length: 2-3 Hours

Delivery: Completely Online - No Placement 

Duration: You will be able to access and complete the course for 90 days


Requirements: 

  • Access to a computer and a reliable internet connection

You will have a maximum of 90 days to complete the unit. 


Upon completion you will receive a Certificate of Completion. 


Refresher Training Explained

Is this course right for you? We recommend this course for:

  • Those who have previously completed Nationally Recognised training such as CHCPRT025, CHCPRT026, CHCPRT001 or CHCPRT002 (such as responsible persons, nominated supervisors or mandatory reporters in some states)

or 


  • Those who are not required to undertake accredited training but are required to be aware of indicators of abuse or neglect and how to respond.

Refresher training designed to assist the participant in demonstrating up-to-date knowledge of the laws and their obligations to meet the requirements of regulation 84.


A refresher training course does not necessarily have a course code or provide any formal accreditation. 


Refresher training is relevant to demonstrate compliance with Reg 84 and Quality Area 2.


Regulation 84 Awareness of child protection law 

The approved provider of an education and care service must ensure that nominated supervisors and staff members at the service who work with children are advised of— 

  1. (a) the existence and application of the current child protection law; and 
  2. (b) any obligations that they may have under that law.

  • Is this course the same as completing CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk?

    No. CHCPRT025 Identify and report children and young people at risk is a Nationally Recognised Unit of study. 


    Some states require that mandatory reporters complete this unit at least once. If you need to enrol in this unit, you can view options at https://www.epeceducation.com.au/CHCPRT025.


  • What is involved in this short course?

    This course is a mixture of short videos, text and multiple choice questions. It is completed online, with no need for practical tasks or classroom attendance.

  • I need to complete a course with a code - does this course have a code?

    No, this course does not have a code as it is a refresher course only. 


    You may need to complete CHCPRT001 Identify and respond to children and young people at risk, which is a Nationally Recognised Unit of study. 


    Some states require that mandatory reporters complete this unit at least once. If you need to enrol in this unit, you can view options at https://www.epeceducation.com.au/CHCPRT001.
